Will AI replace management executives in Singapore?
AI will change a lot of the daily work of management executives in Singapore, but it is unlikely to replace the role outright. Tools can already draft reports, summarise data, schedule meetings and write routine messages, so some of this work will need fewer people. A person is still needed to make judgement calls, answer for results, deal with people in real time and lead a team.
Why it scores 6
Management executives work primarily on digital tasks (reporting, coordination, data analysis, communication) that AI can significantly augment, potentially reducing headcount requirements. However, the role retains core human functions—strategic judgment, accountability, real-time decision-making, and team leadership—that remain difficult to automate, placing it in the high-exposure range rather than very-high.
The score reads the job title, not you. Your own exposure depends on your tasks, employer and tools. A high score means the daily work changes, not that the job disappears.
What management executives can do
Hand routine reporting to AI tools
Let software draft first versions of reports, minutes and updates, then check them yourself. You keep the time for the work that needs your judgement.
Get better at reading the data
Learn to question what an AI summary tells you and spot what is missing. Being the person who can say whether a number makes sense is hard to automate.
Build your people and decision skills
Spend more effort on coaching your team, handling disagreements and making calls when the facts are incomplete. These are the parts of the role that remain with a person, and SkillsFuture can be a place to look for support.
