Will AI replace producers in Singapore?
AI will not replace producers in Singapore, but it will take over a good share of the paperwork around the job. Tools can already help with schedules, budgets, tracking costs and parts of post-production, so a small team may get more done with fewer hands. The core of the role still needs a person: deciding what a project should be, negotiating with talent and crew, and fixing problems on set as they happen.
Why it scores 6
Producers face high exposure from AI-assisted project management, budgeting, post-production workflows, and data-driven decision-making—roles increasingly augmented by AI tools. However, creative direction, talent negotiation, real-time on-set problem-solving, and artistic judgment create meaningful human barriers that keep the role from very-high exposure (7+). The work is substantially digital and coordinating, making it vulnerable to efficiency gains that reduce headcount.
The score reads the job title, not you. Your own exposure depends on your tasks, employer and tools. A high score means the daily work changes, not that the job disappears.
What producers can do
Hand routine planning to AI tools
Try them on schedules, budget drafts and cost tracking, and check every output yourself. Learning where they slip lets you save time without risking the production.
Build your creative and editorial judgement
Decisions about story, tone and what an audience will respond to are hard for software to make well. Keep practising them and be ready to explain your reasoning to clients and funders.
Deepen your talent and crew relationships
Negotiation, trust and calm handling of problems on set stay with people. Keep a strong network of directors, performers and technicians who want to work with you again.
