Will AI replace enterprise and solution architects in Singapore?
AI tools can already help with a lot of the paperwork around this job, such as drafting design documents, checking system models for gaps and suggesting technical options. A person is still needed to weigh trade-offs between cost, risk and fit, to take responsibility for the choices, and to work through competing views among stakeholders. Expect the daily work to change a good deal, with the routine analysis and writing moving to software and more of the time spent on judgement and talking to people.
Why it scores 7
Enterprise/Solution architects work in a fundamentally digital domain where AI can substantially assist with design analysis, system modeling, documentation generation, and technical recommendations. However, the role requires significant judgment in complex trade-off decisions, deep accountability for system choices, and stakeholder management across multiple contexts — capabilities that resist full automation and reduce exposure relative to more routine technical roles.
The score reads the job title, not you. Your own exposure depends on your tasks, employer and tools. A high score means the daily work changes, not that the job disappears.
What enterprise and solution architects can do
Use AI for first-draft designs
Let it draft diagrams, option lists and documentation, then check them against what you know about the client's systems. Your review is where the value now sits.
Build your trade-off reasoning
Practise writing down why one design was chosen over another, including the risks and the cost of changing later. This is the part that is hard to hand to a tool.
Strengthen stakeholder and sponsor relationships
Spend more time with business owners, security teams and delivery teams to understand what they really need. Trust and clear explanations help your designs get adopted.
